Here comes June "Mama June" Shannon with some loving words for her husband.
The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum marked one year since her courthouse wedding with Justin Stroud on March 23, praising him for being "the most perfect person" to her so-called "corny goody self."
"One year ago I married my best friend even though we met almost 2 years," she wrote on Instagram. "A lot of people didn't want us together or thought we wouldn't not [sic] make it but we have been through ALOT to say the least."
Explaining how the two endured tough times that most couples "would not b able handle," she said they have managed to "figure out every situation together." Mama June continued, "I have never experienced that before so it has been very nice."
The former TLC star—who is mom to daughters Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon and Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell—went on to commend Justin for sticking by her side through life's ups and downs. "u are amazing," she shared. "I appreciate u for being with everything when I know it's hard to deal with at times but I'm glad u r with me and girls."
Adding that she "can't wait to see what the future holds," Mama June wrote to Justin, "thank you for allowing me to experiencing [sic] true love."
Indeed, the couple faced a number of challenges during the first year of their marriage. Six months after tying the knot in what Mama June described as a "spur of the moment" ceremony, the 43-year-old was hospitalized due to severe headaches and dizziness. In February, Mama June's 17-year-old daughter Alana was involved in a traffic stop with boyfriend Dralin Carswell that led to his DUI arrest.
However, Mama June and Justin had plenty to celebrate as a couple as well. Earlier this year, the duo exchanged vows in a second wedding ceremony in Panama City, Fla. Attended by friends and family, including Mama June's grandchildren Stella, Sylus and Bentley Efird—who Lauryn shares with husband Joshua Efird—the nuptials were "the first time the family had all been together since 2014," according to the TV personality.
"It was really special to get married in a place where my family and I have had so many memories," she said in a statement shared by WE tv. "All four of my girls walked me down to Justin, and his mom walked him down the aisle."
